Accessibility statement

The University of Vienna is committed to providing accessible websites in accordance with the Austrian Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz (WZG, web accessibility act) as amended to implement the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327 issued on 2 December 2016, p. 1).

This accessibility statement applies to the website virsu-network.univie.ac.at.

Status of compliance with the requirements

Due to the exemptions listed below, the website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

The underlying criteria are based on standard AA as specified in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and the European Standard EN 301 549 V3.1.2 (PDF).

Exemptions due to disproportionate burden

On 9 pages, elements were detected in which the contrast between background and foreground colours does not meet WCAG 2AA minimum ratio thresholds. The reason was that the element’s background color could not be determined because it is overlapped by another element. The problem pertains to the following pages:

Due to the low volume of the use of this website, which is now functioning as an archive for a project currently in a dormant state, and due to lack of resources (maintenance personnel), we consider these issues to fall under “exemptions due to disproportionate burden”. Users potentially affected by this problem are kindly requested to contact the site administrator (see contact information below) for assistance.

The wp-login page https://virsu-network.univie.ac.at/wp-login.php has two issues: “[an] element’s background color could not be determined due to a background image”, and “[an] element’s background color could not be determined due to a pseudo element”. This issue only affects the site administrator.
